Dr. Chiyo Shidara

Dr. Chiyo was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and graduated from Nippon Dental University. She moved to California with her family after receiving a dental degree and practicing in Tokyo for many years to pursue a different level of dentistry in the Bay Area.

She was a member of the clinical faculty at the University of California, San Francisco and University of Pacific for 4 years and was a private practice dentist in the East Bay area. She was also appointed head of the Dental Department at the Contra Costa County Hospital and supervised the Dental Department for 9 years.

With over 20 years of experience, she says what motivates her is being able to interact with patients everyday alongside her talented staff. In her spare time, she is an avid runner, singer, and a mother of 3.

My recent visit (today) was for a crown replacement. They did a great job. Absolutely no pain or discomfort.
